Receives a New Car (use for a year) Compliments of HADA

HONOLULU, HI-- Continuing a tradition established in 2000, the Hawaii Automobile Dealers Association, using some of the proceeds from last year’s First Hawaiian International Auto Show, coordinated the presentation of a new car (use for a year) to Bebi Davis, a physics and chemistry teacher at Farrington Hish School, who was named the 2009 Hawaii State Teacher of the Year during ceremonies held 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Hawaii State Board of Education meeting at Aliamanu Middle School, 3271 Salt Lake Blvd.
The dealers provided a new Volkswagen Jetta (use for a year), with teacher’s apple artwork on each front door and the designation 2009 Hawaii State Teacher of the Year.
Dennis Short, HADA’s president-elect, made the presentation.
A life size picture of the State Teacher of the Year accompanying the new car, will be displayed at the First Hawaiian International Auto Show, March 26-29, 2009 at the Hawaii Convention Center.
