In Congress – Senate Estate-Tax Vote is Coming Up

Sen. Daniel Akaka |
Wrangling continues on H.R.8 – the permanent elimination of the estate tax. A cloture vote may take place in early June. Sen. Daniel Akaka’s office, in response to questions about the senator’s position, said news is still awaited on possible compromise proposals. NADA maintains its position for permanent full repeal but many Hawaii dealers are starting to show concern that failure to obtain some estate tax relief now will put the measure so close to full reinstatement of the estate tax rates in 2011 that vitriolic rhetoric will escalate and no agreement will be reached. Our Senators can be contacted at 202 224-3121. They need your input. Please call.
